Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Some clocks tell the time. One of them can take you through it.Nine-year-old Ted is looking forward to a summer with his grandad in Blackheath - a summer of ice creams, ridiculous stories, exploring London and, if Grandad has anything to do with it, doing absolutely nothing sensible. Then Ted hears a clock ticking. At the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, the mysterious Shepherd Gate Clock has twenty-four hours on its face. But Ted soon discovers it holds another secret entirely. When a scruffy talking dog named Tick leads him through the clock, Ted enters the Between - a magical pathway connecting extraordinary moments throughout history.Suddenly an ordinary summer becomes the adventure of a lifetime.Ted will encounter dinosaurs, pirates, Leonardo da Vinci, cowboys, legendary kings, daring explorers and some of history's greatest mysteries. But someone else is travelling through time too.A mysterious man carrying a silver watch with no hands is stealing moments from the past, and if Ted cannot discover what he wants, the consequences could reach far beyond one summer. And as the adventure unfolds, Ted begins to suspect that Grandad knows far more about the magical clock than he has ever admitted. The Chronicles of Time: The Magical Clock is a funny, heart-warming time-travel adventure filled with magic, mystery, history and imagination - but beneath it all is a story about a boy and his grandad, the memories we carry with us and learning that the most precious moments in life are precious precisely because they cannot last forever.Perfect for young readers who love adventure, history, mystery, talking animals and stories with plenty of heart.
