Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

For some time now there has been an emphasis on college being the only route for young folks to follow to obtain employment with a future. This thought pattern has resulted in a shortage of good craftsman in skilled trades that are very much needed in our everyday lives.

This 'What Do I Want to Be?' series is an effort to renew interest in the skilled trades for those not wanting to pursue a college degree or for whom college is not a realistic option for personal reasons.

Our world depends on skilled trades to construct, install, maintain and repair all our sorts of wonderful conveniences we seldom give much thought to...until they break...and then guess who we are urgently looking to for help!

Here's a partial list of conveniences in our lives directly impacted by trades:

- Transportation: cars, trucks, planes, ships, trains, busses, trolleys, ferries.- Our homes: appliances, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, flooring, remodeling, HVAC. - Food chain: livestock (cattle, sheep, goats), field crops, veggies, fruits, nuts, dairy, fish, etc.- Supplying imported and domestic goods: ships, railroads, long-haul trucking, dockside facilities, storage, distribution, local delivery.- Construction: buildings, factories, schools, homes, apartments, malls, strip centers, hospitals, highways, bridges, roads.- Communications: telephones, cell phone towers, radio and television broadcasting.- Computers: Software, hardware, internet, satellites, web services.- Utilities: Gas, propane, electric, water, sewer, solar, wind.

And the list goes on-and-on.

This book series is about those skilled tradesmen we depend on everyday...and how you can become one of them!
