Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

n the quiet hillside town of Rosh Pina, in Israel's Galilee, two ten-year-old boys chasing a stray soccer ball stumble onto a nightmare: a man lying in the rubble of a demolished house, a knife buried in his stomach, and a stranger fleeing into the trees.

Detective Hezi is called to what looks, at first, like a robbery gone wrong on an abandoned lot. But the deeper he digs, the more Rosh Pina's quiet streets seem to hide a whole underworld beneath them: a dead woman's estate quietly stripped bare before her own children arrive to bury her, a contractor building on land he doesn't own with forged permits and a lawyer willing to look away, a council head with debts he'd rather no one traced, and old whispers of gold coins smuggled in by Romanian immigrants generations ago and buried, waiting, in the yards of condemned houses.

As Hezi works his way through a town where everyone knows everyone and no one wants to talk, the case keeps splitting into new threads: real-estate fraud, a missing husband, a frightened widow, schoolchildren warned by their own principal not to go digging where they shouldn't. Every witness seems to be protecting someone. Every lead dissolves the moment it's touched. And somewhere in Rosh Pina, the man who plunged a knife into his oldest friend is still walking free, one careless detail away from being caught.

Murder in Rosh Pina is a page-turning small-town mystery from Drora Schwartz, weaving a decades-old secret, small-town corruption, and one detective's refusal to let a case go cold into a single tightening knot. Fans of character-driven Israeli crime fiction will follow Hezi from Rosh Pina's stone alleys to its hidden ruins and back again, all the way to a confession no one saw coming.
