Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Small warriors. Big problems. Good pay.The Low Company survived its first campaign-but survival came at a terrible price.Reduced to thirty-one battered halflings, Captain William Aldbourne and his mercenaries could finally collect their wages and march home. Unfortunately, a colossal Stone Mother is advancing through the Hill Marches, thousands of Stoneborn are gathering around her, and King Osric has offered thirty-five crowns a halfling for the Company to remain. Then six wagons of desperately needed salt vanish. The trail leads beneath the frontier, into a forgotten world of ancient roads, abandoned mines and a hidden kobold civilisation preparing for its own destruction. The kobolds know why the Stoneborn are marching. They also know who awakened them.To save Dunmere, the Low Company must fight beside former enemies, expose a powerful lord's treachery and unite halflings, humans, hill clans, kobolds and ettins beneath one uneasy command. The problem is not simply defeating the Stoneborn. It is surviving long enough to discover what they truly want.Battered pikes, dangerous contracts, underground armies and an unreasonable quantity of rope await in Friends in Low Places, the second adventure in The Low Company series.
