What if old boxes, paper scraps, and everyday materials could become wonderful Christmas gifts?Meet Maya, a curious young inventor with a big idea: build a Christmas Gift-Making Machine!Instead of throwing away things she no longer needs, Maya gathers cardboard, paper, jars, bottle caps, and other reusable materials. With a little imagination-and plenty of testing-she builds a simple machine that helps her sort, shape, and create. But Maya soon discovers that inventions don't always work perfectly the first time. When her machine gets stuck, she learns an important lesson about the engineering design process: ask questions, make a plan, build, test, find the problem, and improve. As Christmas gets closer, Maya and her family turn their recycled materials into thoughtful handmade gifts. Along the way, young readers discover that being an inventor isn't about getting everything right-it's about being curious, creative, patient, and willing to try again.
