Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

On New Year's Eve in 1920s Moscow, an ordinary clerk puts on the headphones of his homemade radio set-and wakes up centuries in the future.Gone are the crowded trams, smoky streets, and endless government paperwork. In their place lies Radiopolis: a startling tomorrow where humanity soars through the clouds on personal wings, cities have dissolved into boundless gardens, and the untamed power of the sun is broadcast freely through the ether.Yet this radiant new world is locked in a shadow war. Across the ocean, the last surviving plutocrats rule from a single, suffocating skyscraper that pierces the stratosphere. To sustain their empire, they have twisted science to its darkest extreme-biologically reshaping generations of workers into grotesque, living components of their machinery.Armed with disintegrating death rays, drone tanks, and subterranean mole-ships, the oligarchs prepare a desperate final strike. Plunged from the skies of Arabia to the crushing depths of a polar sea fortress, a man out of time must fight alongside this new civilization before a cornered madman unleashes the power of the atom to tear the planet apart.First published in 1927 by Alexander Belyaev-the visionary pioneer known as the "Soviet Jules Verne"-Radiopolis is a thrilling collision of retro-futuristic pulp, technological prophecy, and epic high-stakes conflict, presented here in a vivid, modern English translation.
