Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Pete Dawson thought a quick garage clear-out would be harmless. Then he found an old photograph, remembered all the fishing trips he and his best mate Mick had been promising themselves for years, and accidentally agreed to spend the next twelve months doing them properly. The plan sounds simple: carp, tench, barbel, pike, canals, sea fishing, fly fishing and a few old favourites along the way.Unfortunately, Mick has never met a simple fishing trip he couldn't turn into a full-scale operation, and Pete's wife Helen has decided she would quite like to prove that both men have been making angling far more complicated than it needs to be.What follows is a year of bad planning, questionable bait, tackle-shop temptations, disastrous meals, missed fish, seasickness, sheep, sweetcorn and the sort of laughter that only comes from spending far too much time outdoors with people who know you too well. But beneath the chaos is something Pete hadn't expected: old memories, friendship, marriage, getting older, and the uncomfortable realisation that "one day" eventually needs a date.Warm, funny and full of recognisable fishing moments, One More Cast is a feel-good novel about friendship, life and the strange optimism that keeps anglers coming back for just one more cast.
