Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

West Ham United's history is a story of ambition, loyalty, triumph, and adversity. From its beginnings as Thames Ironworks in 1895 and the formation of West Ham United in 1900, the club has built a proud identity in English football. This book takes readers through the major eras that shaped the Hammers, including the move to Upton Park, the rise of the Academy of Football, the FA Cup triumphs of 1964, 1975, and 1980, and the remarkable generation of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, and Martin Peters. It also recalls the club's European Cup Winners' Cup success in 1965 and the many players and managers who helped establish West Ham as one of England's most recognisable football clubs.

The story continues through the challenges of the modern era, including relegations, promotions, the birth of the Premier League, the departure from Upton Park, and the move to London Stadium. It covers the return to European competition under David Moyes, the memorable 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League victory over Fiorentina, and the difficult years that followed. The book brings the story up to the 2025/26 season, when West Ham finished 18th in the Premier League and were relegated to the Championship after 14 consecutive seasons in the top flight. Filled with important matches, influential figures, historic achievements, and difficult turning points, this is a detailed account of the events that have shaped West Ham United across more than a century.
