Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Nell likes things neat.Nell likes things right. But pancakes have other ideas. When Nell makes pancakes with Grandma for the very first time, she wants to get everything just right. She measures. She stirs. She grips the jug with both hands. Then comes the flip. Her first pancake is pale, torn and shaped like nothing at all. Nell wants to throw it away-and stop trying.Grandma has another idea. With playful rhyme, a joyful "Sizzle... sizzle... FLIP!" refrain and a dog who gets caught up in the kitchen chaos, The First Pancake is a warm, funny picture book about mistakes, second attempts and the things we decide are worth keeping.Soft, fabric-inspired illustrations bring Nell and Grandma's kitchen to life, while their affectionate relationship gives a familiar childhood frustration a gentle place to land.Written for children ages 4-8, this reassuring read-aloud invites conversations about perfectionism, disappointment and trying something new. Share it at bedtime, in the classroom or curled up with a grandparent. For every child who has ever said, "I can't do it"-and every grown-up helping them try again.
