Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Whoever holds it, owns it. Everyone who has ever held it is dead.Four small-time salvage thieves have spent their lives hauling cargo nobody misses - scrap, surplus, the flotsam of a fallen economy. Then, adrift in the dead lanes, they find a sterilized derelict with its name burned off its hull and its holds full of the impossible: the entire seized treasury of a murdered government, stored as bearer wealth - anonymous, untraceable, worth more than some worlds, and the only thing propping up the currency of the merciless regime that took power by owning debt.Taking it isn't just theft. It's pulling the floor out from under the money of a thousand worlds. And the regime can't openly hunt for it - to admit the treasury is missing is to collapse its own currency overnight. So there is no fleet, no bulletin, no manhunt. There is only one quiet, courteous, tireless Assessor who settles accounts in silence and leaves no one alive who has seen. The crew isn't in danger of being caught. They're in danger of being reconciled.Captain Kade wants to take it all - for reasons that have nothing to do with wealth and everything to do with the daughter the regime's arithmetic took from her. Doss, the old fixer, wants the safe cut and the quiet life, and knows a score this size turns *ours* into *mine* one person at a time. Oru - the alien conscience of the crew, whose people wear every debt they carry on their skin - says the only moral act left is to make certain no one can ever hold it again. And Wick, the pilot, the heart, the one who only ever wanted out, is the one who has to decide how far love of these people follows them into a thing that is killing them. They have the load. Now they have to decide what it costs to put it down.BEARER is a grounded, morally airless heist-thriller in deep space -
