Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The alien warship surrendered. Now he has to defend it.Lieutenant Elias Ward commands a patrol cutter. He has no orders for accepting the surrender of a twelve-kilometer alien warship. Then its captain asks for protection.Aboard the Testament, 2.4 million alien civilians lie in suspension. They were taken from conquered worlds. Their captors still control the ship-and its failing life-support systems.Ward gives his word that no one under his protection will be handed over to die.Keeping that promise means persuading a frightened human colony to shelter millions of strangers aboard a vessel built for conquest. It means trusting officers who helped imprison the people he is trying to save. And when sabotage threatens the sleeping passengers, it means putting his own crew inside a ship they barely understand. Then the fleet hunting the Testament arrives to reclaim it.Ward's superiors can strip him of command. The alien envoy can threaten Harrow. Neither can make the passengers any less his responsibility. But his patrol cutter cannot stop a fleet. The Warship That Surrendered begins a military science-fiction trilogy of first contact, desperate rescue, and the cost of giving sanctuary.
