Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

You know the words. But do you know Him?You may have prayed a prayer, been baptized, attended church for years, or taught others about Jesus. But what is the foundation of your confidence that you truly belong to Him?In Have You Been Believing a Lie?, Kim Rodgers invites you to examine a question that is easy to ask of others and difficult to ask of yourself: Do I truly know Jesus, or have I simply learned how to look like a Christian?Writing honestly about her own early profession of faith, years of doubt, and dependence on Christ through hardship, Kim brings a personal voice to the difference between religious activity and genuine faith. Through King James Version Scripture, plainspoken teaching, everyday examples, and searching questions, she explores: - The difference between professing faith and personally trusting Christ- Jesus' warnings about outward religion and false assurance- What repentance means-and why it is more than feeling sorry- What obedience, love for God's Word, and abiding in Christ look like in daily life- The witness our choices leave with family, friends, and others- The gospel and the security of those who belong to JesusThis is not a call to earn salvation, achieve perfection, or treat every struggle as proof that you are lost. It is an invitation to face false confidence honestly and find assurance of salvation in Christ rather than in your own performance.Whether you have grown comfortable with familiar religion or find yourself asking, "How do I know I am saved?", this book points you back to Jesus.Eternity is too important to leave that question unexamined.
