Lyreya is dead, but his work has just begun. A plague of necromancy rolls across the land and threatens the lives of all mortals.Through fate or the design of gods, an unusual group find themselves at a traveler's inn. When a dark force that is sweeping across the land falls at their doorstep, they must work together to stem the tide of death that nips at their heels.Among the party is Florence, a gnome on a mission of self-discovery after being raised among humans, and Sania, an armored priestess haunted by the dead whose true importance has yet to be revealed. They are joined by Katia, a draconic sellsword with an automaton companion with potential ties to the aggressive Ashoman Empire.Together with the rest of their band, they must make a stand against the army of the dead, lest all of Oakland fall to the necromancer's foul designs. But the party has more than dark sorcery to contend with. A pantheon of powerful deities with their own agendas keeps careful watch on the affairs of mortals and interfere when it suits them, for good or for ill.Because History Would Not Care is an ensemble fantasy adventure for fans of Malazan Book of the Fallen and Last King of Osten Ard.
