Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Deep within the jagged granite teeth of Malice Pass, Black Hollow Sanatorium stands like an unfinished headstone cast in cold brutalist concrete. Cut off from the civilized world by a suffocating sub-zero front, the facility harbors a sinister clinical mandate. Dr. Julian Vance arrives under an urgent corporate directive with a singular objective: stabilize the neuro-palliative drip lines of Ward Zero's seven comatose patients before winter seals the mountain shut. For Julian, the assignment is both penance and shelter. Haunted by phantom guilt and clinging obsessively to an analog cassette tape of his daughter Lily's voice, Julian navigates the antiseptic, rubberized halls with hyper-analytical detachment. But Black Hollow defies every tenet of human physiology. The air vibrates with a maddening four-hertz subterranean frequency that rattles the fillings in his teeth. Frost crawls across the leaded glass in unnatural geometric vectors. The junior staff wander unheated parapets with the glassy stillness of reanimated cadavers, their waxy skin devoid of warmth and their veins threaded with parasitic, frost-hardened hyphae. The deepest nightmare, however, lies locked inside Ward Zero. When tectonic tremors shudder through the foundation, Julian discovers the ward's manual seismograph pulses in millisecond synchronization with his patients' spiking heart rates. A fractional chemical assay shatters his clinical worldview: the proprietary opalescent fluid dripping into their veins is no sedative. It is an excruciating sensory amplifier-an ultra-potent algogen that locks human minds into an unbroken, paralyzed electrical scream. The seven comatose bodies are not patients awaiting recovery; they are bio-electrical dampening rods, their engineered agony weaponized to suppress a primordial, tectonic entity hibernating beneath the tectonic shelf. When an automated reel-to-reel transmission reveals the facility has been running without human oversight for half a century, the boundaries of Julian's memory violently disintegrate. The yellow cassette tape shifts from an innocent bedtime tale into cold surgical intake records. Lily never drowned in a sunlit summer lake. And Ward Zero does not have seven telemetry bays.It has eight.Visceral, unrelenting, and saturated with arctic dread, Feed the Winter Before It Starves is a tour de force of hypothermic body horror and clinical gothic fiction. Blending the claustrophobic dread of John Carpenter's The Thing with the fungal surrealism of Jeff VanderMeer's Annihilation and the psychological precision of Brian Evenson, this chilling novel plunges readers into the abyss of grief, biomechanical horror, and ancient winter hunger.Step inside Ward Zero. Listen to the hum beneath the permafrost. And discover what happens when the winter inside human veins finally thaws.
