Adeline Ontiveros writes a two-page paper about witches for her English class. It resonates with Professor Rebecca Randall so profoundly that she seeks answers at the traveling Halloween Carnival set up on the football stadium parking lot. Detective John Hernandez, Rebecca's fiancé, accompanies her to the carnival, but answers are nowhere to be found. Witches, on the other hand, are abundant. These vile creatures cast spells, and murder ensues.
With no evidence at the murder scenes, no motive for the murders, and possible witchcraft as the murder weapon of choice, the police are at a standstill. Professor Randall is not restricted by the usual conventions of investigative procedures and, using her incredible computer skills, deep-dives into the background of every member of the coven until she finds the chinks in their armor. With her newfound information, she chips away at the coven members until all the false trails, red herrings, and smoke screens have been cleared. When every shred of evidence is in the light, there is still not enough information for Detective Hernandez to put the pieces together. The Professor must resort to using her intuition, the voices, if one prefers. This is the last thing the witches want.Wie gefällt Ihnen unser Shop?
