Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Two cousins. Two traditions. One grandmother eager to learn.Sai Lung is Chinese and Dominican. Sofia is Mexican and Dominican. When the cousins spend time with their Dominican Abuela, each has something special to teach her about the other side of their family.Sai Lung shares the meaning of Qingming, a Chinese tradition of remembering loved ones by visiting and caring for their resting places, bringing flowers and food, and keeping family memories close.Sofia introduces Abuela to Día de los Muertos, a Mexican tradition filled with marigolds, photographs, candles, favorite foods, stories, and a colorful ofrenda. As Abuela listens, she discovers that although the traditions look different, they share something important: love for family, respect for those who came before us, and the power of remembrance. Two Traditions, One Heart is a warm multicultural picture book about identity, family, curiosity, and the many ways children can carry more than one culture with pride.Perfect for shared reading, classrooms, multicultural families, and conversations about heritage and remembrance.
