Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

I Am a Pug invites children into the loving world of a small, sturdy shadow dog. Told in the gentle first-person voice of a pug and echoed through a child's imaginative play, this story follows Milo on a day when his favorite person, Jack, steps out-and waiting is hard.

As keys jingle and the door thumps shut, Milo feels fizzy worry. Using his doggy senses and body to cope, he gathers familiar smells into a cozy nest, licks a safe chew, watches the window, chooses cool shade over sunny spots, and remembers to sit for hello when the key finally turns. The result is a tender, age-appropriate look at separation, patience, and joyful reunion-all grounded in real animal behavior and empathy.

Back matter offers friendly facts about pugs: where they come from, their compact size and curly tails, why short muzzles mean they need shade and water, how their expressive eyes need gentle care, and the kinds of walks and sniff games they enjoy. Part of the I Am a Dog series, this warm read for ages 5 to 10 helps families notice dog body language, practice kind routines, and talk about big feelings in a safe, reassuring way.
