Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Meet Mark-a young artist with very big ideas!

In this funny, child-illustrated adventure, Mark tells the story of how the Statue of Liberty was designed in France, built from copper, taken apart, packed into 214 crates, shipped across the ocean, and rebuilt in New York.

Along the way, readers will discover why the Statue of Liberty was originally a shiny copper color, how her strong iron skeleton was designed, and why she slowly turned green. Was she painted? Nope! Nature did the job-and the green patina now helps protect her copper skin.

Created from a child's original drawings and sense of humor, this playful educational book makes history easy to understand and fun to remember.
