"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." - Genesis 6:8

What does it mean to live in the favor of God?

The Bible repeatedly introduces us to men and women who trusted God, obeyed His Word, resisted the corruption around them, repented when they sinned, and remained faithful when obedience became difficult. Noah walked with God. Abraham believed God. Joseph resisted temptation. Moses sought God's presence. Ruth remained faithful. David repented. Daniel refused to compromise. The apostles endured persecution for Christ.

What can their lives teach us about how we ought to live?

NOAH FOUND GRACE IN THE EYES OF THE LORD explores this question from Genesis through Revelation, following the Bible's consistent teaching about faith, obedience, holiness, repentance, humility, perseverance, and the fear of the Lord.

But this book makes an essential distinction:

We do not earn God's saving grace by doing good works.

Salvation is God's gracious gift through faith in Jesus Christ. Yet genuine grace does not leave a person unchanged. God's grace teaches His people to reject ungodliness, pursue righteousness, love others, and walk faithfully with Him.

Through the lives of biblical men and women-and especially through the person and work of Jesus Christ-this book examines what Scripture teaches about:

- Walking with God in a corrupt world- Trusting God when the future is uncertain- Obeying God when obedience is costly- Resisting temptation- Repenting when we fail- Pursuing holiness- Humbling ourselves before God- Loving what God loves- Rejecting worldly compromise- Serving others- Persevering through suffering- Abiding in Christ- Living by the power of the Holy Spirit- Remaining faithful until Christ returns

From Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, David, Daniel, and the prophets to Jesus Christ, the apostles, and the churches of Revelation, the same fundamental truth appears again and again:

God's grace produces a people who desire to walk with Him.

This is not a book about earning God's approval.

It is a book about learning to seek God rather than the approval of the world.

If we cannot earn God's grace, how should we respond when He gives it?

We should walk with Him.
