Voices Before the Fall - Book 3

He was no priest. No court prophet. No man of rank.

He was a shepherd from Tekoa.

When God sends Amos north to Bethel, he walks into a kingdom glowing with wealth, ceremony, and confidence. The sanctuaries are full. The markets are busy. The powerful call the nation blessed. But beneath the songs and sacrifices, the poor are being crushed, justice is being bought, and worship has become a cover for corruption.

Alone in the roads, gates, and courts of Israel, Amos dares to speak what no one wants spoken. He confronts crooked merchants, respectable houses, compromised priests, and a religious system so entangled with power that truth itself has become a threat. As his warnings grow sharper, so do the visions: the plumb line, the summer fruit, the shaking altar, and the terrible certainty that a nation can mistake delay for peace until judgment is already at the door.

But The Shepherd at the Gate is more than a novel of warning. It is a story of moral courage, public truth, and the mercy of God that still calls before silence falls. For readers who love biblical fiction with weight, prophetic fire, historical texture, and real spiritual depth, this is a haunting portrait of Amos-and a powerful entry in the Voices Before the Fall series.

Perfect for readers of serious biblical fiction, prophetic Old Testament novels, and emotionally rich Christian historical fiction.
