Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Volume II continues after the Saxon settlement at Thanet has become impossible to ignore. Violence escalates around the boundary between Saxon camp and British land. A murdered boy nearly shatters the fragile agreement, and the burning of Marcus's villa marks the moral collapse of the earlier bargain. Leofgar saves lives but cannot escape his role in the destruction.Hengist then enters more directly, bringing strategic clarity to the Saxon cause. He sees that permanent settlement, not raiding, will decide the future. The story builds toward Aylesford, where Saxons and Britons clash in a brutal river battle. Horsa and Catigern both fall, and the dead of both peoples are buried in the contested land. The final chapters show the Saxons sending for more families, tools, and seed across the Narrow Sea, while British survivors move west and north. The epilogue, set years later, looks toward Badon and the beginning of legend, suggesting that history is already becoming story.
