Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

What if the future human is not the one upgraded by machines, but the one who rises withmemory, dignity, community, and soul intact? This book offers a theological-philosophicalinterrogation of transhumanism from the standpoint of the Mutshwa. It argues thattranshumanism is not merely a future dream of cyborgs, genetic editing, artificialintelligence, neurotechnology, and human enhancement; it is already reshaping themeaning of the human. Its promise is seductive: longer life, stronger bodies, sharper minds, restored abilities, and liberation from suffering. Yet its peril is equally serious: technologymay cease to serve humanity and begin to redefine human worth through efficiency, enhancement, data, productivity, and control.Against this peril, the book places the Mutshwa-the one who rises from land, memory, ancestry, wound, community, and spiritual vitality-at the centre of the debate. Drawing onevangelical Protestant theology and Ntumbunuko, it asks whether technological progresscan honour human dignity, creaturely limits, moral responsibility, ancestral memory, communal life, and spiritual integrity. The book refuses both technological worship andnostalgic rejection. It welcomes technology that heals, restores, educates, and dignifies, but resists any future that turns the vulnerable into data, markets, experiments, or obsoletebodies. Its central claim is clear: the human must not be redesigned into another empire ofdomination.
