The Divine Council: Babel and the Origins of gods The Deuteronomy 32:8-9 Worldview and the Cosmic Crime SceneFor centuries the "gods" of the nations were dismissed as myth. What if those myths are the fingerprints of a real, ancient power structure that rewired human history? Mark Lance pulls back the veil on the Divine Council, tracing a forensic line from Genesis to the empires of the ancient Near East. This is not speculative theology or dry scholarship. It is a detective story-scripture, archaeology, and ancient Near Eastern context combined to expose how the seventy nations were handed over to hostile spiritual rulers, how that jurisdiction shaped myth and empire, and how a single covenant with Abram began the counteroffensive.Inside you will find: - A clear reading of Deuteronomy 32:8-9 as the key to the Old Testament worldview.- A forensic reconstruction of Babel, Genesis 6, and the post-Flood world as a coordinated cosmic fracture.- Practical implications for how the Divine Council shaped ancient religion, kingship, and theologies that still influence our world.- Accessible scholarship that follows the work of Heiser, Walton, and other leading voices while remaining readable for the general Christian reader. If you want to understand the Bible's cosmic map-and why the nations look the way they do-this book gives you the field manual. Read it to see the world not as it is told, but as it truly is: a contested landscape where the old gods still seek dominion and a single covenantal family begins the rescue.Read The Divine Council if you want a sober, evidence-driven, scripture-anchored account of the unseen forces that shaped history.
