Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Haunted by a past soaked in war and superstition, a killer returns to finish what he believes destiny demands. In 1946 Rhodesia, Buffel, just a young boy, defies local warnings and unleashes a spiritual curse when he desecrates sacred ground. What he sees in the trees-children sacrificed, the wrath of a sangoma-will fracture him for life.As a man, Buffel served in the covert PSYOPS unit of Rhodesia's bush war. Now he's a farmer and a professional hunter with a dark obsession: redeeming his childhood failure by replicating the sangoma's ritual. But only the girl he calls the Butterfly, will be the onespiritual sacrifice that will free the soul of his friend, one of the murdered children from long ago.Decades later, Tara Wright is a mother raising her son in South Africa. Trauma reawakens shadows she tried to forget-and sets her on a path that intersects once more with the dangerous man who's always been hunting her in the shadows. As Buffel resurfaces, driven by myth and madness, Tara is no longer a defenceless child. She's a woman forged in survival-and she's prepared to fight. As Buffel spirals deeper into madness, convinced ancestral spirits choose him to perform a final, violent rite, Tara and those who love her must unravel a decades-old conspiracy stretching from colonial missions to modern-day game farms. If they fail, history will repeat itself-and another child will die.Embark on an unforgettable journey-this adventure stands alone but is even richer as part of the series!
