Marriage, kids, a car, and a house with the white picket fence- check. There isn't much more you could want to live a happy life, right? Wrong!!Melissa's world is turned upside down when her husband of nearly two decades just up and leaves her to chase his new dream halfway across the country. She is left to pick up the pieces with two other broken hearts to tend to. Just as it becomes too much for her, an opportunity to make a clean break from the past comes with an invitation to live with her aunt and finds her moving what's left of her family out to the Pacific Northwest.Melissa is mesmerized by the quaint little town of Yuletide Creek with its snow-capped mountains, the ginormous and beautifully decorated tree in the town square, and every shop and house brightly heralding the season of jolliness. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, but she struggles to get into the spirit, especially with two moody teenagers with secrets that make her question herself as a parent. When a handsome mountain man swoops in and offers to help her with more than just her present predicament, Melissa finds her walls going up. But will his smile and kind grey eyes be enough to melt the ice left by her ex, and will her children finally come around for them to have the most memorable Christmas they've had in years?
