Kim's is one of them.Paired with her sharp new partner, Detective Gary Hernandez, Kim reopens the case that nearly destroyed her career. Their investigation uncovers falsified reports, vanished evidence, secret patient transports, and a network protected from inside the police department. Every answer brings the danger closer to their families-and proves that someone has been preparing for Kim's return to the case. Then two daughters disappear. To bring them home, Kim must decide whom she can trust, confront the mentor who taught her how to survive homicide, and expose a truth powerful people buried in fire. But the deeper she goes beneath Platform Nine, the clearer the warning becomes: the body was never meant to stay hidden.
