Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

What if some of the things you believe about God are not actually true about God? Many people sincerely believe in God while carrying an incomplete, distorted, or inherited picture of who He is. Our understanding can be shaped by religious tradition, culture, fear, personal experiences, disappointment, and the behavior of people who claim to represent Him. As a result, we can end up worshipping an image of God that exists more in our minds than in Scripture. This book invites you to examine those assumptions and return to the God who has revealed Himself. In this volume, you will journey through the misconceptions that have influenced the way many people understand God. From human ideas and religious traditions to fear, personal experiences, and distorted interpretations of Scripture, this book asks difficult but necessary questions. It explores what happens when our experiences become greater than revelation and when religion begins to speak about God more loudly than Scripture speaks for Him. The goal is not to attack faith, but to recover a clearer and more biblical understanding of the God behind our faith. At the heart of this journey is a return to Scripture and to Jesus Christ. The God revealed in the Bible is not merely the God of human imagination. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God of covenant and redemption; the God who makes Himself known and calls people into relationship with Him. Jesus declared, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Through Christ, we encounter a God whose holiness does not cancel His mercy, whose justice does not eliminate His compassion, and whose grace does not compromise His truth. This volume is an invitation to look again-to question what needs questioning, surrender what needs surrendering, and rediscover what Scripture has actually revealed about God. It is for the believer who wants more than inherited religious language, for the seeker who has struggled with difficult questions, and for anyone who wants to know God beyond assumptions and misconceptions. THE GOD WE HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD challenges you to move from the God you may have imagined to the God who has revealed Himself.
