Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

She was a brilliant scholar who found that all the books in the world could not compare to the love of one Heart.

Long before the world knew of the Sacred Heart devotion through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a hidden nun in 13th-century Germany was already conversing intimately with Jesus. Saint Gertrude the Great is unique among the saints-a mystic, a theologian, and the only female saint to be given the title "The Great" by the Church.

Story and Prayers of St. Gertrude the Great invites you into the cloister of Helfta to meet a woman whose life was a burning arrow of love directed at the Heart of Christ. This moving biography chronicles her journey from a child offering to a brilliant intellectual, and finally to a humble mystic who realized that the greatest wisdom is found not in books, but in the wounds of the Savior.

In this inspiring book, you will discover:

- The Intellectual Convert: How a crisis of "worldly attachment" to literature led Gertrude to a profound "conversion of heart" and a life of deep prayer.- The Herald of Divine Love: The story behind her famous visions of Jesus, where she rested her head on His chest and heard the beating of His Sacred Heart.- The Power of Prayer: The origin and promise of the famous Prayer of St. Gertrude for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, which continues to release souls to heaven today.- A Guide to Intimacy: Her teachings on how to turn daily work, suffering, and the Eucharist into moments of profound connection with God.- The Mystic of Helfta: Her beautiful spiritual friendship with St. Mechtilde and how their community became a powerhouse of holiness.

More than just a biography, this book is a school of prayer. It explores the tender, human side of Jesus that Gertrude experienced, offering readers a path to trust in His infinite mercy.

Step into the life of the nun who showed us that the Heart of Jesus is always open, waiting to be loved.
