Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The conservative evangelical church movement routinely marginalizes victims, survivors, and the children of those subjected to domestic violence and sexual assault. This is my story. Born into and raised in the church, I learned via firsthand experience how the community at large isolates, condemns, judges, ostracizes, and insults people who have been mistreated either physically, mentally, verbally, or sexually. It affects far more than whether or not we are accepted by their fellow congregants; it changes how we see ourselves and the world around us, and can even lead to a perpetuation of an "abuse isn't that bad" mentality through neglect and apathy. It is my hope that those who read my book gain understanding, compassion, and a desire to help those who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in this difficult situation.
