Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Brave Souls is the story, inspired by true events, of two teams of rescuers who responded to the distress call of a sinking merchant ship off the coast of Valdivia in the South Pacific. It is an epic tale that tells how the courage and strength of the human spirit can overcome what many would consider impossible. It is a book that speaks of humanity and determination, of resilience and an attitude devoid of all selfishness, in the midst of a storm that was on the verge of becoming a hurricane. It is the story of the riskiest rescue ever carried out in the South Pacific using helicopters not designed for rescue operations-in this case, two Super Puma (Cougar) helicopters, according to the former commander of the Royal Australian Navy, carried out by Chilean sailors.

Brave Souls not only tells the story of the rescue, but also the details on land, in the offices of the political and military authorities responsible for what was happening at sea, and also from the perspective of witnesses observing the events from the shore. It also involves the families (mothers, wives, and children) of those who were risking their lives to save others.

In short, the reader will find in this book a true epic from beginning to end, based on an event that marked a turning point in history, in several ways, from policy changes, to system restructuring, to the redesign of a world-renowned helicopter. All in a single book that, according to early readers, is gripping, intense, compelling, and profound.>"Death was hunting that day, and men were its prey."
