Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

This comprehensive and multilingual presentation of the Cūlakammavibhaṅga Sutta (Majjhima Nikāya 135) serves as a deep exploration of karma, ethical conduct, and the implications of intentional action within Buddhist thought. Combining original Canonical Pāli in Devanāgarī script, contemporary English translation, and reflective commentaries, this work offers students and practitioners a rare and layered understanding of one of the most essential discourses attributed to the Buddha. The book begins with contextual essays on karma and right effort, followed by a detailed analysis of the sutta's sources, parallels, and transmission. Each of the seventeen core paragraphs is presented side-by-side with the Devanāgarī-script Pāli, modern English translations, concise summaries, and thoughtful commentary to aid both newcomers and advanced readers in appreciating the depth of the text.To broaden accessibility and insight, the sutta is also translated into Tibetan, Tagalog, and Japanese, with accompanying reflections that explore its relevance in different cultural and linguistic contexts. This multilingual approach underscores the sutta's universal themes of moral causality, rebirth, and the power of volitional deeds.
