Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Before The Old U(VA) and I and The Old Boarding School, there was the boy who lived it all. Born in 1943, the author spent his first fourteen years on the move-across Montreal, Canada, three northern states, two southern states, and eight different schools. Each stop brought new friendships, challenges, and a front-row seat to a rapidly changing America in the years after World War II. Told with warmth, wit, and an eye for cultural detail, this memoir is a vivid portrait of boyhood in mid-century North America-complete with dormitories, classrooms, small-town streets, and the quiet moments that shape a life. Part coming-of-age story, part historical snapshot, this book captures the experiences that built the foundation for a life of curiosity, resilience, and reflection. And with a unique "Rear View Mirror" epilogue spanning 1965-2025, it offers rare insight into a life still being lived. A heartfelt journey through time, memory, and the making of a man.
