NOBODY SHOULD DIE ALONE

Newly promoted, Tony Packer heads a unit of detectives in Perth, Australia's most isolated capital city.

A woman's body, naked and bound, is found dumped in an alley in the city's red light district. She had been garrotted.

Tracing the few leads they have, Packer and his team discover she was living under a false identity, part of the transient population that inhabits the city's hidden underground.

Under pressure to get a quick result, Packer's team begins to close in on the obvious suspect.

But there are pieces that don't fit, things that don't make sense. How is her murder connected with a slum landlord, people smugglers and migrant exploitation?

And then the team discovers she was not the first.

Something darker lurks beneath the surface, just out of Packer's sight.

Can he find the answers before the killer strikes again?

A Bad Place Alone is the first in a new series of knife-edge thrillers set in the underbelly of Perth, Western Australia, based on the real-life experiences of former prosecutor, JT Viner.

Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, Ian Rankin, Jack Gatland, JM Dalgleish, Patricia Cornwell and other police procedural thrillers.
