Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Steve Rondeau left home at sixteen and enlisted in the military at eighteen. When he arrived at Fort Polk, Louisiana, for basic training, Steve had no idea of what was ahead-especially when he realized he had unwittingly signed up for airborne school. Little did he know that he was about to become an airborne ranger who would eventually spend over sixteen years on jump status, become a free-fall instructor at Fort Bragg, and make over two thousand parachute jumps during his twenty-year military career. In a collection of true accounts that span several decades and branches of the military, veterans that include a medic, a first sergeant, and a colonel share fascinating, poignant, and sometimes humorous stories that transport others into chaotic war zones, their experiences running from the enemy, and life in the jungle where they lived out of a rucksack, invited destitute children to be their guides, and encountered eclectic residents. Included are bible verses, reflection questions, and short descriptions of families served by the BT Hero House Foundation. From the Heart of a Soldier shares compelling personal accounts from military veterans that offer a glimpse into the lives and experiences of those who serve our country.
