Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

What if Christian mission in Africa could move beyond the shadow of colonialism and become a source of renewal in the church worldwide? Inspired by the thought of Engelbert Mveng, this book dares to reimagine mission, not as a project of domination, but as a journey that awakens to life, rooted in the deep spiritual and cultural resources of Africa. It confronts the destructive forces of poverty, dependency, and cultural erasure, what Mveng called "anthropological poverty." Rather than stopping at diagnosis, it traces a path forward: a constructive vision of faith that restores dignity, reclaims identity, and affirms life in its fullness.Insisting that Africa's contribution to theology is not marginal or secondary but vital to the future of the church, this book recovers suppressed traditions, amplifies silenced voices, and proposes new theological paths. It invites readers into a dialogue where Africa is not an object of mission but a subject shaping God's mission. It challenges the global Church to see Africa not just as a "mission field" but as a source of wisdom, vitality, and hope. In doing so, it opens up possibilities for a faith that is both deeply African and profoundly universal.
