Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Religion got us into this mess. Can it possibly get us out? What's the truth? Santa Claus and the Virgin Mary! Really? Great stories but are they true? Who created God? Man? Who created Man? God? This book is about the history of world religions and how they have affected every phase of life including political parties, wars, school shootings, community violence, marriages, families, municipalities, states and our country in both positive and negative ways. Our country is in danger of losing democracy. We are at a political tipping point of no return. Religion is not an innocent bystander. The author presents a radical examination of what you believe in while introducing challenging new ways of thinking. At the center of everything there is a religious belief in God or gods, or no God(s) at all. You will learn how your faith effects relationships in your life, your community, neighbors, family, and friends. The author takes you on an inner journey to your true self. He challenges orthodox religion, the infallibility of the bible, televangelists and glass cathedrals. Each chapter can be utilized as a source for study groups such as book clubs, bible studies, prayer groups, and therapy groups. You don't have to believe everything that you've been taught. It's helpful to step outside yourself and examine who you have become and what you have decided to believe. Have you ever wondered why you do what you do? Why you believe what you believe? Why do others believe what they believe? Have you reconciled the existence of world religions other than the one you were born into? Do you judge them as wrong? How do you think they see your religion?
