Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Although Jeanette MacDonald was best known for movies, records, and recitals, during the early days of television, she made many appearances on variety shows, musical and comedy programs, interviews, and game shows. Jeanette MacDonald On the Air, Volume 2 takes an in-depth look at her TV appearances. In addition to information about what she sang and other guests, many listings feature reports from fans who saw the programs or attended the telecasts, as well as photos of Jeanette on TV. Carol Burnett and Edie Adams did the most Jeanette take-offs; however, everyone from Cher to Barbra Streisand to Dan Blocker spoofed her. Read about these sketches and tributes, as well as Jeanette's appearances in film shorts and newsreels, in the appendices. Maggie McCormick is the author of I'll See You Again: The Bittersweet Love Story and Wartime Letters of Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond, published by BearManor Media. She has written extensively on the Golden Age of movies, theater, and dolls.
