Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

When six characters suddenly appear during the rehearsal of a Pirandello play and demand to have their story told instead, the director is forced to confront an entirely new theatrical situation, one that cascades into chaos as the characters and the actors collide in surreal twists of comical, philosophical, and tragical confrontation. SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR is widely considered the Nobel Prize-winning Pirandello's masterpiece."Luigi Pirandello is probably more important in the history of the twentieth-century drama than anyone else is." -Harold Bloom"Pirandello's most extraordinary achievement: the play of the century." -Eric Bentley"The most remarkable feature of Pirandello's art is his almost magical power to turn psychological analysis into good theater." -Per Hallström, Nobel Prize Presentation Speech
