Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Coptic language is the language of the Egyptian fathers and forefathers, preceding the entrance of Christianity into Egypt. It is the language in which the fathers of most of the land of Egypt read the Holy Scriptures. It is the language in which the fathers of Coptic monasticism wrote their sayings and in which their biographies were written. It is also the language in which the Coptic Church enjoys the prayers of the Divine Liturgy and the daily Psalmody to the present day. The book Foundations of the Coptic Language by the reverend monk, Fr. Andreas of the Monastery of St. Macarius is one of the rare books, which delves into the depths of the language, and it explains all its grammar in a plain way, making its mysteries clear. Learning the Coptic language is essential to understand the Coptic heritage, and to practice our life in the Church with understanding and awareness, according to the commandment of St. Paul the Apostle: "I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding."
