The book of Kisses was born because of an exceptional time spent with my son, Ryan Lee. At age two and a half, after the nightly story, I would kiss him and tuck him in bed. Right then, he would grab my hand and say, "Kisses, Mommy." And of course, I couldn't say no to him. I would give him more kisses and sing a lullaby. Once I thought he was falling asleep, I would try to leave, and he would grab my hand again and say, "Kisses, Mommy." Pretty soon, these innocents that started off being needed by my youngest son became too much to handle every night. I had to attend to his brothers' needs, finish the day's chores, and prepare for the next day before bed. This book came about after thinking of different ways to demonstrate my love for my son Ryan Lee...It portrays animals showing their affection for one another with a kiss. I imagine sixteen types of kiss combinations with animal interaction, showing love toward one another and, in some cases, manipulating the scenery to deliver my imagination. The illustrations are almost precisely the pictures I imagined them to be. I could not be more pleased with Kathleen Bell-Ryan, my illustrator. This book is for people of all ages. Enjoy!
