Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Digitalizing Teacher Education in Africa, challenges the focus on hardware purchasing and the need to look at a deeper pedagogical shift. In the context of Sub-Saharan Africa, the digital divide continues to be a barrier to equity in education, and especially regarding the chosen contexts. This book sets out to provide a comparative case to see whether the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda are transforming their education systems through Initial Teacher Training (ITT).Incorporating curriculum review, policy analysis and pedagogical orientation, the book shows that meaningful digital transformation requires more than infrastructure but aligns itself with visionary leadership, teacher centered professional development and interconnecting policies. With an emphasis on relevance, equity and sustainability, this volume navigates and speaks directly to the challenges and opportunities facing the digitalization of educational systems in sub-Saharan Africa and using the DRC and Rwanda as case studies. This book is therefore ideal for academic institutions, development agencies and educational establishments.
