Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Complicated families breed complicated relationships, and the Walters family is no exception. When small-town doctor Henry Walters dies unexpectedly, his three children-wildly different from one another, and each coping with personal and professional crises-are called home by their mother for the funeral. What awaits them is a massive surprise that sends them traveling together on a chaotic, darkly comic journey across the United States, fulfilling their father's final wishes in accordance with a mysterious grand Plan. Along the way, they encounter scenic wonders, a cast of eclectic Americans, and a series of unanticipated misadventures. As the miles pass, old tensions resurface. The siblings struggle to reconnect, reckon with their conflicting memories of their father, and find their way-unsteadily-toward the truth behind a stunning family secret."...a warm, funny, and deeply felt novel about the messy inheritance of family: what our parents leave us, what we owe each other, and how grief has a way of forcing the future." - Jenny Porter, author of The Space Between
