Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Tales of Nasreddin Hodja is a laugh-out-loud collection of classic folk stories retold for children, featuring one of the world's most beloved clever heroes: Nasreddin Hodja (say: HO-jah). Set in 12th-century Turkey, these tales whisk readers into village streets, busy marketplaces, and humble homes where a single puzzling moment can explode into a perfectly timed joke and a surprising bit of wisdom.Nasreddin is a teacher, a neighbor, and a legendary prankster with a warm heart. He doesn't solve problems by being loud or mean. He solves them by being smart, playful, and fair. Sometimes he flips a situation upside down so everyone can finally see what's really going on. Sometimes he answers a question with a question. And sometimes he delivers a punch line so quick you'll want to reread it just to enjoy the twist again.Inside, kids will meet:a stubborn mountain that refuses to budge (so Nasreddin changes the plan),an innkeeper who tries to charge a beggar for the smell of soup (and gets paid in a very unusual way),a fancy banquet where a coat gets more respect than a person (until Nasreddin teaches everyone a lesson),a moon that seems to fall into a well (and a "rescue mission" that ends in a hilarious surprise),and more tales packed with mischief, kindness, and common sense. These stories are written for read-aloud fun and independent reading, with language and pacing aimed at about age 8. Each tale is short, lively, and easy to follow, making the book perfect for bedtime, classrooms, libraries, or any kid who likes jokes that are clever instead of mean.Because Nasreddin's stories come from a culture where Islam is part of everyday life, the book treats that world with respect. Readers may see characters praying, speaking reverently about God, and following traditions that mattered deeply to their communities-all presented in a friendly, accessible way for young readers. If you're looking for a book that blends humor, history, and heart, Tales of Nasreddin Hodja is a joyful doorway into timeless storytelling. Where the punch lines are funny, the twists are surprising, and the Hodja always seems to be one step ahead.
