Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

We've all wondered what goes on in the teacher's lounge, what is being said, who it is being said about, and whether or not there is food in there. What do teachers do on PD days? And who really runs the school? In his first year of teaching, Mr. Sims has already noticed that everything he thought he knew about teaching and students is irrelevant. Mr. Sims offers his observations from a teacher's perspective on what is happening behind the scenes in education. This isn't just a chance to peek behind the scenes and see what's in the teachers' lounge but a chance to look at the naked truth of American education. As the relationship between students and teachers grows more contentious, Why Disrespect My Teacher? offers insight into the conflicting ideologies within communities and the ever-growing mysteries of who runs the schools.
