Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

History is not only the story of kings, wars, and political change; it is also the story of countless ordinary people whose labor, sacrifice, and struggles help shape a civilization. Yet many of their voices remain absent from mainstream historical narratives. Jagrata Hindu OBC seeks to bring some of these overlooked perspectives into discussion. This book is not intended to promote hostility toward any individual, community, or political group. Rather, it offers an open exploration of questions related to history, society, politics, and identity. Through the author's observations and reflections, it examines the past, present, and future of Bengal's Hindu OBC communities, with particular attention to the Kaibarta and Mahishya communities. The book discusses issues such as social justice, political representation, cultural heritage, self-respect, democracy, organization, and unity. It also highlights lesser-known aspects of history and raises important questions, encouraging readers to form their own informed opinions. In a democratic society, the freedom to express ideas, ask questions, and re-examine history is essential to intellectual growth and public dialogue. This work is written in that spirit. It is hoped that this book will stimulate thoughtful discussion, deepen interest in history and society, and inspire readers to engage with these subjects critically and constructively. The reader is the ultimate judge of this work.
