Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Wrap yourself up in the warm memories of Edwina, a precocious and delightful girl who lived in Boston in the early 1900s.Edwina's recently uncovered memoirs-found in old notebooks and diaries at the bottom of an old trunk by her granddaughter, Jill Hofstra-tell the stories of growing up the child of a single, working mother who never let her daughter know how hard life really was. Edwina introduces us to the diverse cast of characters that populated her world through her mother's business and her neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, some of whom were heartbreaking, some hilarious, and some, as Edwina would say, "real stinkers."Told in first person, Edwina's humor, spunk, and optimistic spirit shine through. Her stories evoke the sweet simplicity of childhood memories, as seen through the eyes of an older, wiser woman. Threaded with life's lessons and an understanding look at human nature, I'm Edwina is an unforgettable book that leaves some unanswered questions and a lot of room for speculation and reflection. Perhaps Edwina's story will spark a forgotten family memory and inspiration for you as well.
