Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Salvation must be defined by Scripture.Few doctrines are more often spoken of-and more easily misunderstood-than salvation. Some reduce salvation to a moment of decision. Others attach it to human merit, religious works, emotional experience, moral improvement, or church identity. Some speak of grace in a way that weakens repentance and holiness. Others unsettle the believer by placing assurance and security finally in the weakness of man rather than in the power and faithfulness of God.Systematic Theology - Scripture Defines Scripture, Volume 9: The Doctrine of Salvation examines the Bible's teaching on salvation from beginning to end. Written from the conviction that Scripture must define its own doctrines, this volume traces salvation as the work of God: planned by the Father, accomplished by Christ, applied by the Holy Spirit, received through faith, evidenced in life, secured by God, and completed in glory. This volume explores major biblical doctrines including: the gospel of Godgrace, mercy, and the love of God in salvationelection, calling, conversion, faith, and repentancereceiving Christ, confession, and calling upon the Lordsalvation and worksunion with Christ, regeneration, redemption, and forgivenessjustification, imputation, and adoptionsanctification, perseverance, assurance, and securityglorification and the hope of resurrectionlaw, grace, warning passages, and the security of the believerfalse gospels, legalism, easy believism, and lordship confusionsalvation in relation to Christ, the Spirit, the church, Israel, the kingdom, and the glory of GodThis is not a detached academic survey or a man-made system imposed upon the Bible. It is a Scripture-driven study of soteriology that seeks to let the Word of God define the doctrine of salvation in its own terms.Volume 9 can be read as a standalone study on biblical salvation, making it useful for pastors, teachers, students, Bible study leaders, and serious readers who want a fuller understanding of grace, faith, justification, sanctification, assurance, and glory. At the same time, it also functions as part of the larger 24-volume Systematic Theology - Scripture Defines Scripture series. The earlier volumes establish the authority of Scripture, the character of God, creation, man and sin, the person of Christ, the atonement, the risen and exalted Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Volume 9 builds on that foundation by asking: How does God actually save sinners according to His Word?Salvation is not man-centered, merit-based, uncertain, or shallow. It is of the Lord. It begins with God, rests in Christ, is applied by the Spirit, produces holiness, secures the believer, and ends in the praise of God's glory.
