Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Have you ever had an idea grab hold of you that you just couldn't shake?Brad and his wife had one of those ideas fall out of the sky and into their laps. Based on their volunteerexperiences serving in soup kitchens and shelters, their idea was to open a different type of restaurant. One with no prices and serving organic and locally sourced foods, so anyone who walked through thedoor would be able to afford a good meal. In 2006, they risked it all and took the leap to open the doorsof SAME Café.When the idea came to them, they hoped they might be able to feed a few people. They neverenvisioned how much taking that leap would feed their souls and enrich their lives.Slices of Community is not a memoir, nor is it a how-to guide for opening a restaurant. It is a collectionof stories as witnessed from behind the counter of the country's oldest pay-what-you-can café. Storiesof success, stories of defeat and reminders of what it means to be human in today's world.
