Some stones are best left unturned. It's been only weeks since the world was ravaged by the notorious 'Red Day,' and Skye Calvert now finds herself thrust into a position of leadership. With the former International Space Hotel CEO, Alan Lusky, ousted, she faces an unthinkable choice: should she potentially condemn him and his co-conspirators to death in the irradiated world below, or should she show mercy and rise above? As time passes and she makes her decision, Skye confronts an even harsher reality: the residents of the ship are starving, and it's only a matter of time before they must follow in Lusky's footsteps, facing a perilous offload into the desolation below. A darkness begins to creep into her as Skye grapples with a new challenge: herself. But then, on the horizon, something catches her eye-the International Space Hotel is no longer alone in space. Skye knows whatever they are looking at is connected to the events of the earlier apocalypse, and it beckons them closer. The crew is closer than ever to uncovering the truth of what caused the destruction below, but a dark question looms: do they really want to know?Xavier Paulson delivers his sequel to his riveting science fiction debut, creating a story where the pursuit of the truth leads the members of the ISH to unparalleled dangers in the unknown.
