Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A fight for freedom. A land in chaos.Mariano rescues Tomás from the nightmarish labor in the silver mine in Potosí by disguising him as a muleteer on a mule train going north. Tomás quickly adapts to the work. But rather than a new life of freedom, he soon finds himself thrust into a world unraveling by rebellion. The mule train is carrying muskets needed by the rebel army of Túpac Amaru II. Each encounter on the journey could mean life or death. Are they facing rebels or Spanish loyalists? As the mule train travels, Tomás learns of the merciless killing of Spaniards by the enslaved rebels and the equally brutal retaliations by the Spanish and their allies. After arrival at the rebel headquarters, Tomás soon sees the effects of battle in the deaths and woundings of his fellow Indians. He increasingly despises the Spanish. As he finds himself thrust into desperate life or death battles, his basic good nature changes to that of a fighter. Now he only wants the Spanish gone and the Indians free. A Horse for the last Inca: Part 2 - Into Rebellion captures the raw struggle for freedom by the Indians in 18th century South America.Fans of rich, character-driven historical fiction won't want to miss this powerful continuation of Robert L. Phen's epic trilogy.
